In the Transcarpathian region, border guards detained three men in wetsuits who were planning to cross the Tisza River to Romania. This was announced by the State Border Service on Sunday, March 19.
“The men were dressed in wetsuits. In addition to carefully wrapped in polyethylene change of clothes, shoes, documents and money, they had inflated car cameras with which they planned to swim across a body of water unfamiliar to them,” the report says.
It is indicated that the men arrived in Transcarpathia from other regions: one from the Ternopil region, one from the Vinnitsa region, and one more from the Odessa region.
At the same time, the border guards noted that the men did not know how dangerous attempts to overcome the cold and full-flowing Tisza were. In addition, now in Transcarpathia at night the air temperature drops below zero degrees, the depth of the river reaches three meters, and its width is 50 meters.
In general, over the past day, as part of the operational and preventive measures March 2023, the border guards of the Mukachevo detachment stopped eight men liable for military service at the state border who intended to leave the territory of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that in the Vinnytsia region, border guards exposed a dodger who, in order to travel abroad, decided “urgently” to become a “father of many children.”
The SBU also established that an official of the Ministry of Defense helped the draft dodgers. He organized illegal paperwork to remove citizens from military registration.
