Last Saturday night (18), Rio Grande do Norte experienced yet another episode of attacks on the headquarters of public companies, businesses and vehicles. This time, the Boa Esperança train station, located in Parnamirim, in Grande Natal, was set on fire by criminals using Molotov cocktails.
The fire was brought under control by the Military Fire Brigade, which was triggered at the beginning of the fire, which started at 9:40 pm. The attacks in Rio Grande do Norte began last Tuesday (14). According to the state government, the station was empty and there were no casualties.
The damage includes electronic equipment rooms, in addition to furniture in the premises, such as chairs, tables and office supplies. At the station, the walls were stained, the windows broken and the railings destroyed.
In a note, the Companhia Brasileira de Trens Urbanos stated that “it has been in negotiations with all security forces, both in the federal and state standby, since the beginning of these criminal actions, so that security around the Railway Stations is reinforced” .
Attacks
In five days, there have been 250 criminal attacks in the state. According to the state government, the actions are commanded by a criminal faction that operates from within the prisons of Rio Grande do Norte.
Also on Saturday night, the Bomb Squad of the Special Police Operations Battalion (Bope) was called to verify a possible explosive device abandoned in front of the Frasqueirao Stadium, in Ponta Negra.
The bomb was defused by the group, who took the artifact for analysis. In Acari, a city 216 km from Natal, in the Seridó region of the state, a law firm was the target of 12 shots, also on Saturday night.
A school bus was set on fire in São Pedro, in Agreste Potiguar, early this Sunday (19). The vehicle was inside the city hall garage when it was attacked by the criminals.
