The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put a 19-year-old student from Arkhangelsk Olesya Krivtsova on the wanted list, accused of “discrediting” the Russian army and “justifying terrorism” because of posts on social networks.
On March 15, a message appeared on the telegram channel “Freedom to Olesya Krivtsova” that she had left Russia. Currently, the girl is in Lithuania. “I can’t believe it’s all over. Thank you for your support!” she wrote.
A criminal case on “justifying terrorism” (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and “discrediting” the Russian army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against Krivtsova was opened in December 2022. According to OVD-Info, the case of repeated “discrediting” of the army was brought against it because of a repost of an anti-war publication on VKontakte, and the case of publicly “justifying terrorism” was brought against it because of Instagram stories about the explosion on the Crimean bridge.
It was reported that the materials of the case initiated against the girl included screenshots of her correspondence with a classmate and a denunciation. The media also published correspondence in a student chat, where classmates of Krivtsova shared screenshots of anti-war posts on her social networks and discussed where it would be better to inform her.
On December 26, she was searched. The court first chose her a measure of restraint in the form of a ban on certain actions, but then sent her under house arrest.
Olesya Krivtsova was denounced by students of her own university. Now she faces 10 years for anti-war posts. Have the Russians started reporting more often?
