In response to the salary adjustment proposal presented by the Belo Horizonte city hall, divided into two installments of 2.5% in August and 3.43% in December, the civil service starts a strike movement starting this Tuesday (21). On the same day, workers held a demonstration in front of the headquarters of the Executive of the capital of Minas Gerais, at 9 am.
The rejection of the City Hall’s proposal and the agenda of fights for dignified readjustment were deliberated last Thursday (16), in an assembly convened by the Union of Municipal Public Servants of Belo Horizonte (Sindibel).

In recent days, the union has been holding a series of meetings with representatives of the Executive and Legislative branches of the capital to press for the negotiation of a proposal that meets the interests of public servants.
On Monday afternoon (20), a meeting, which was attended by Mayor Fuad Noman (PSD) and Mayor Gabriel Azevedo (without party), dealt with the proposal to unify the two installments presented by the city hall in a single one, starting in July of this year.

salary loss
Data from the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese) point out that, in January, the wage loss of servers was already 7.86%. For July, the forecast is that it would be necessary to readjust 11.40% and, in December, 14%.
Faced with this scenario, the union maintained the call for strike and protest.
“The mayor does not recognize the civil servants who serve the population of Belo Horizonte, proposing only a 5% readjustment at the end of the year, when the wage reduction will be 14%”, he said, in a statement released this Monday (20).
