Erdogan plans to hold talks with Putin in the coming days
Against the backdrop of future elections, the Turkish President spoke again that Ankara is “the only mediator in the conflict between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced regular talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They are scheduled for this week. Their main topic is the export of Russian fertilizers. This is reported by the Turkish edition of A Haber and TRT Haber on Wednesday, March 22.
He claims that “Turkey is now the only country that is called a mediator in the Russian-Ukrainian war.”
The head of Turkey recounted his dialogue with the Russian dictator and spread Putin’s fake about Ukrainian grain exports, which was exposed by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry the day before.
“Putin says: ‘I send grain through the grain corridor, 44% from here goes to Europe, let’s send it to the underdeveloped countries of Africa.’
According to him, their next conversation will take place in two or three days.
Turkey’s leader promised to help fulfill the requirements of the Russian Federation for the export of its fertilizers.
“There is also a need for fertilizers. We will provide them. We will try to facilitate (their transportation – ed.) for shipment to underdeveloped countries,” he says.
Recall that Putin earlier threatened to terminate the grain corridor if “the key requirements of Moscow are not met.” The head of the Kremlin argued that most of the grain along the Black Sea corridor goes to the “well-fed countries of Europe”, and not to Africa.
However, on March 18, it became known that Ukraine had reached an agreement with Turkey and the UN to extend the grain deal for another 120 days. Russia, in turn, said that it extended the grain deal for only 60 days.
