In a statement to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the anti-democratic acts this Thursday (23), the former Secretary of Public Security of the Federal District, Júlio de Souza Danilo, said that he could not fight crimes in the camp, as it was a military area. According to the former secretary, some attempts to demobilize the camp were canceled by the Planalto Military Command itself, still under the management of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
“General Dutra said that we could not dismantle the camp. It was an army area. Therefore, there had to be this cooperation and the GDF could not act on the spot”, said the former secretary who left office on January 1st and was replaced by Anderson Torres, who is now arrested on suspicion of omission or collaboration with the terrorist acts of January 8th. january “Occasionally, the operations we tried to carry out there were interrupted because he said he had received an order not to be carried out”, he added.
According to Deputy Fábio Felix (PSOL) the acts were planned in advance and involved authorities. “The timeline today shows us that there was a long preparation by this extremist group, coup plotter, to carry out extreme acts and attempted coup d’état in this country”, said Felix, adding: “This CPI has an obligation to investigate prevarication on the part of authorities public authorities. There was omission, incitement and intellectual planning by high authorities of the Republic”.
When responding to the president of the CPI, Deputy Chico Vigilante (PT), about the fact that there were no arrests on the day of the December 12 attacks, he said that “the first mission was to restore public order” and that there was a delay in acting of the police because there was no information about the risk of the acts. “The next day, by my determination, a meeting was held at the SSP, with the Civil Police, Federal Police and Military Police to draw up a plan to hold those involved accountable”, he justified, noting that the operation resulted in arrests after a few days”, he added.
Last week, the CPI heard the former Commander of Operations of the Military Police of the Federal District, Jorge Eduardo Naime, who is also under arrest on suspicion of collaboration or omission with the acts. The former executive secretary of the SSP/DF, Fernando de Sousa Oliveira, and the former undersecretary of Intelligence of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-DF), Marília Ferreira Alencar, have also been heard by the CPI.
