The United States still does not see the provision of material support to Moscow from Beijing, but continues to closely monitor the situation.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s meeting with Keml’s head Vladimir Putin is a “wake-up call” that could indicate China’s growing support for Russia. This was announced on Thursday, March 23, by the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, Ukrinform reports.
Xi’s meeting with Putin was a “show of support,” he said.
“Xi’s visit to Putin and his stay there for many days, I think, sends a very disturbing message, a message of support,” the US Secretary of Defense said.
At the same time, Austin noted that there are no facts about the transfer of lethal weapons by China to the Russian Federation yet.
Austin also stressed that the provision of material support by China to the Russian Federation could affect the continuation of the war.
Recall, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is not opposed to using the points from the so-called “peace plan” of China to resolve the war with Ukraine.
At the same time, the United States called China’s “peace plan” an attempt to freeze the war in Ukraine.
