President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) postponed his trip to China this Saturday (25) after being diagnosed with mild pneumonia. The trip was postponed to the following day, on Sunday (26). A meeting that would take place this Friday with ministers was cancelled.
“The President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is in Alvorada after tests at the Sírio Libanês hospital last night (Thursday, 23rd). The president has mild pneumonia and will, as a result, postpone the start of the your trip to China,” says an official statement.

Now, the president is being treated with antibiotics and his health condition will be reassessed in the coming hours.
Lula’s agenda includes participation in the China-Brazil Forum on Sustainable Development. The following day, there is a forecast of a bilateral meeting between Lula and Xi Jinping, current leader of China and secretary general of the Communist Party.
