APU has been using Caesar self-propelled guns for almost a year
The country will also increase production of Mistral surface-to-air missiles and Ground Master air defense radars.
In France, the production of self-propelled howitzers 155-mm howitzers Caesar will double. Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said this, according to Les Echos on Friday, March 24.
“The production rate of Caesar self-propelled 155-mm howitzers by Nexter will double from the current four to eight units per month,” he said.
The Minister added that the production of Mistral surface-to-air missiles will also be doubled to 40 units per month. The production of Ground Master air defense radars will also accelerate. From September they will be produced in the amount of 24 units per year.
Earlier, France had already transferred 18 Caesar howitzers to Ukraine, and in January promised to transfer 12 more self-propelled guns.
It was also reported that Denmark handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine all the Caesar installations that were in service – 19 units.
