State Border Service Speaker Andriy Demchenko
Ukraine is actively cooperating with the EU countries, as well as with Moldova, in order to jointly counter any attempts by Ukrainians to illegally cross the border.
The speaker of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko said that Ukrainians who illegally crossed the border cannot receive refugee status in the EU countries. He said this on the air of the telethon.
According to Demchenko, Ukraine is actively cooperating with the EU countries, as well as with Moldova, in order to jointly counter any attempts by Ukrainians to illegally cross the border.
“Of course, some try to immediately apply for refugee status, but I note that this is not a reason for Ukrainian citizens, such violators, to be considered as refugees in the countries of the European Union,” he said.
Recall that 136 evaders have been detained in Transcarpathia since the beginning of March.
As reported, a 23-year-old boy from Bukovina drowned while trying to illegally cross the border into Romania.
