The Union of Subway Workers and Subway Women of São Paulo decided to accept the Subway’s proposal and end the strike that started this Thursday (23). In a tight vote, the category accepted BRL 2,000 as a compensatory allowance and no discount for strike days.
In total, more than three thousand employees participated in the voting. The union president, Camila Lisboa, reinforced that the vote was extremely tight, with a difference of 21 votes. There is a “just indignation because of the difficult working conditions because of all the disrespect that the category has been suffering in recent years”.
Subway workers also voted to make a counter-proposal of R$ 6,000 in compensatory allowance and the holding of a public tender for all areas, in addition to the continuation of the strike.

In a note sent to the press, Metrô informed that the state-owned company’s economic situation “does not allow the payment of salary bonuses at this moment”. He also said that “there is no justification for the Union of Subway Workers to declare a strike claiming what has already been fulfilled by the company”.
