The Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow terminated the administrative case against the leader of the Nogu Svelo! musician Maxim Pokrovsky. This is reported by the project “Network Freedom”.
The court made this decision due to the expiration of the statute of limitations – the police discovered the post back in May 2022, but the case went to court only in March 2023.
The fact that a protocol was drawn up against Pokrovsky on “discrediting” the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) became known in mid-March. In an interview with Present Time, the musician said that the case was brought against him because of the song “We Don’t Need War” and all the statute of limitations had expired.
According to the police, Maxim Pokrovsky’s post about the song “We Don’t Need War”, published on VKontakte, contains a statement that “the Russian authorities are misleading Russian citizens in order to force them to commit violent acts against Ukrainian citizens in the context of special military operation conducted by the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.
Max Pokrovsky from “The leg has cramped!” talks about his case of “discrediting” the army: “The reason is our video” We do not need war “:
Pokrovsky himself has been abroad since 2019 – the musician lives in the USA. After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he repeatedly spoke out in support of Ukraine and raised money for Ukrainian refugees.
In the summer of 2022, the Nogu brought down! released the anti-war song “Ukraine”. On the anniversary of the start of the full-scale invasion, Pokrovsky posted a video on his Instagram account in which the group performs this song in Ukrainian. On the day of the court session, which was supposed to take place on March 27, according to Pokrovsky, their new anti-war song “Prison Romance” will be premiered.
