Now there is an excess of electricity in the Ukrainian energy system
People’s deputies, the leadership of the Ministry of Energy, as well as representatives of energy companies believe that this will help solve the problems of the fuel and energy complex of Ukraine.
Ukraine needs to export excess electricity in order to have additional funds to restore the energy system after the attacks of Russian aggressors. This is stated in a message on the website of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services on Monday, March 27.
It is indicated that today a meeting of the subcommittee on energy security was held, where people’s deputies, the leadership of the Ministry of Energy, as well as representatives of Ukrainian energy companies gathered. Priority steps to solve the problems of the country’s fuel and energy complex were discussed.
“Without exception, all participants of the round table agreed that as long as there is an excess (surplus) of electricity in the Ukrainian energy system, it is necessary to lift the ban on its export to the EU. The country’s revenues from the export of excess electricity are essential to restore the energy system after enemy attacks,” the message.
Separately, at the meeting, they discussed the need to extend the validity of the legislative norm regarding the use of part of the income of the transmission system operator from the sale of cross-sections for the export of electricity to pay off debts to the state enterprise Guaranteed Buyer.
Recall that in recent weeks, the energy system of Ukraine has been working with a reserve of power. At the same time, Ukrenergo announced an “unprecedented” rate of repair of damaged energy infrastructure facilities.
