Global wind generation to expand by 680 GW by 2027
The capacity of the new facilities will be enough to supply electricity to about 657 million homes a year.
By 2027, wind turbines with a total capacity of 680 GW will be installed in the world. This was announced by the Global Wind Energy Council.
It is noted that the need to ensure uninterrupted energy supplies and achieve climate goals will bring wind energy to a new stage of growth.
It is predicted that the capacity of the new facilities will be enough to supply electricity to about 657 million homes a year.
Last year, China was the leader in the development of wind energy. It is expected that this year it will retain this status.
The installed capacity of the world’s wind farms is projected to reach 1 TW in 2023, and 2 TW in 2030, provided that supply chains are strengthened and other issues are addressed.
