India has become a leading buyer of Russian oil
Russia has redirected most of its energy resources to the markets of “friendly countries,” Alexander Novak explained.
At the end of 2022, Russia significantly increased oil exports to India, and also increased supplies to China. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak at the final meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, Interfax reports on Tuesday, March 28.
“Most of our energy resources were redirected to other markets, to the markets of friendly countries. Let me remind you that, if we take oil supplies to India, they increased 22 times last year. Supplies to China and other markets increased. This is also the result of that big work that has been done in the industry,” Novak said, without giving specific figures for deliveries.
Earlier media reported that India has become a leading buyer of Russian Urals oil. So, in January, about 70% of the shipments of this oil were sent to India.
It also became known that Russia is selling its oil at huge discounts. For three months they have exceeded $30 per barrel.
