Germany considers modernization of Ukrainian GTS for hydrogen transportation
The Ministry of Energy noted that there is a huge potential for bilateral cooperation in the production and transportation of hydrogen.
Germany can take up projects to modernize the Ukrainian gas transmission system for transporting hydrogen. This was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko and State Secretary of the Office of the Federal Chancellor of Germany Joerg Kukis, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reports.
“There is a huge potential for bilateral cooperation in the production and transportation of hydrogen. Germany is considering relevant projects, among which is the possible modernization of the Ukrainian GTS for hydrogen transportation,” the report says.
It is noted that in the program of the German government, set out in the coalition agreement, there is a desire to deepen the energy partnership with Ukraine in the areas of renewable energy and the production of “green” hydrogen.
Recall, Within the framework of the IX Berlin Energy Dialogue, two documents on cooperation in the energy sector between Ukraine and Germany were signed.
It was also reported that Ukraine got the opportunity to receive emergency assistance with electricity not only from neighboring countries, but also from other EU countries.
