Supporters of the UOC-MP tore the poster from the hands of the activists and tore it
Supporters and opponents of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate entered into direct confrontation on the territory of the Lavra itself.
A small brawl between supporters and opponents of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) took place near the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. It is reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
The report says that at 11:30 a.m. several opponents of the UOC-MP, who had previously held a picket near the Lavra, marched with a banner Away from Rusnya from the Lavra to the territory of the monastery, where parishioners held an impromptu prayer service.
As a result, a small scuffle took place there: supporters of the UOC-MP tore the poster from the hands of the activists and tore it up.
As of 11:45 the conflict has exhausted itself. Opponents of the UOC-MP left the territory of the Lavra. The dispute between the parties continued outside the territory of the monastery.
As we already wrote, the commission of the Ministry of Culture was once again not allowed into the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra to conduct an inspection. Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture Maryana Tomin announced her intention to contact the police, as well as file a lawsuit in court regarding the removal of obstacles to the use of property.
I hope representatives of the UOC-MP will “come to their senses” – Tkachenko
