The Metropolitan is suspected of inciting inter-religious hatred and justifying Russia’s armed aggression, sources say.
Law enforcement officers handed suspicion to the former governor of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel (Lebed). It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies on Saturday, April 1.
It is indicated that the Metropolitan is suspected of inciting inter-religious hatred and justifying the armed aggression of Russia (Art. 161, Art. 436 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Subsequently, Metropolitan Pavel confirmed the information about the presentation of suspicion, and also said that searches would allegedly be carried out in his house. The video has surfaced on social media.
Recall that for two days the commission of the Ministry of Culture has not been allowed into the premises of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The department contacted the police.
