Therefore, the chaplain is called spiritually inspire, give them hope and love, hope in God, faith in God, and faith in our future victory,” said the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius.
The training of 30 military chaplains of five religious organizations took place on the basis of the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In Sofia Kievskaya they were awarded certificates of course completion.
“I want to thank everyone involved in the fact that you completed this course, and someone received a primary officer rank, and someone with a military department received another rank. I want to wish that you have tasks that you can solve. Because that in civilian life people treat one thing, but in military life, especially on the front lines, especially in the conditions of the direct line of hostilities, it is completely different,” Cabinet Minister Oleg Nemchinov said during the ceremony of awarding certificates.
Recall that at the end of 2021, the Rada adopted the Law on the Military Chaplaincy Service. The law defines the principles on which the activities of the Military Chaplaincy Service are carried out, its structure, the order of subordination and the total number.
The chaplain service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was created in the summer of 2022.
Back in 2015, the first hundred chaplains began serving in the ATO.
