Alexey Reznikov told what they will talk about at the next Ramstein
Strengthening the air defense / missile defense system remains a top priority for Ukraine, the Minister of Defense noted.
The meeting of the international contact group on military assistance to Ukraine in the Ramstein format will be held next week. This was announced by Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov on Facebook on Saturday, May 20.
“Strengthening air defense / missile defense remains our number 1 priority. Ground systems – from MANPADS to powerful batteries and missiles for them are invariably in focus. In particular, we will talk about this with colleagues at the next meeting in the Ramstein format next week,” – he wrote.
Reznikov noted that Western aircraft will become an important element in protecting the Ukrainian sky.
“A modern aviation platform is exactly what we currently lack in the air defense / missile defense system to protect our peaceful cities and our soldiers at the front. Our air aces are no less skilled than the Ukrainian Patriot, Iris or NASAMS crews. I am sure that they will do their job at the highest level,” the minister stressed.
He also addressed the citizens of Ukraine: “The decisions that our aircraft partners are making today are an important stage, but not the end of the road. It takes time, resources and a lot of very skilled work until our skies become safer. We need to be patient. We keep in line. There will be victory.
Recall that on April 21, Germany hosted the 11th meeting in the Ramstein format. At this meeting, as usual, representatives of the defense departments of more than 50 countries of the world gathered. The participants left a significant part of the agreements behind closed doors.
