The Russians are gathering additional units in Bakhmut
In the Bakhmut direction over the past day, there were 17 combat contacts with the troops of the Russian Federation. The defense forces destroyed 92 Russian military.
Bakhmut remains the top priority target for the Russians. In addition to the Wagner grouping, the Russian Federation is pulling up airborne and motorized rifle units there. During this day alone, the Russian invaders covered the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces with cannon and rocket artillery 414 times. This was announced by the representative of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergey Cherevaty on the air of the telethon.
According to him, 17 combat contacts with Russian troops took place in the Bakhmut direction over the past day. The defense forces destroyed 92 and wounded 156 invaders. Also, two enemy infantry vehicles, 5 guns, one Gvozdika self-propelled gun, 5 UAVs were hit and 13 ammunition depots were destroyed.
The speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that Ukrainian units are defending the southwestern part of Bakhmut, preventing the enemy from seizing positions.
Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Thursday, May 18, repelled all attacks on Bakhmut. In addition, in some areas there is an advance of Ukrainian troops.
