The Ukrainian army hit the headquarters of one of the units of the invaders in the temporarily captured city of Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region. This was announced on May 21 by the Department of Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“As a result of a night strike, the Defense Forces successfully hit the headquarters of one of the occupying units in the city of Berdyansk. The enemy’s losses are being specified,” StratCom said.
Local Telegram channels wrote about a series of explosions that took place in the city around 4:00 am. There was a fire and thick smoke around the airfield.
Part of Berdyansk is still without electricity.
The occupying “authorities” said that the city was fired with Storm Shadow missiles, no one was injured.
It is alleged that a total of seven missiles were launched (four Storm Shadows and three “false targets”), six of which were intercepted by air defenses, and one “fell on the outskirts of the city, destroying the canteen.”
