Syrsky near Bakhmut
The defense forces continue offensive operations on the flanks of Bakhmut and hold the outskirts of the city.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine control the surroundings of Bakhmut, in the future this will provide an opportunity to enter the city, said the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces Alexander Syrsky.
“I visited our soldiers and commanders on the front line. I thanked and noted the soldiers of the 3rd Specialized Brigade, 5th Specialized Brigade of the 30th Specialized Brigade, 56th Specialized Rifle Brigade, 93rd Specialized Brigade, who destroy the enemy every day,” Syrsky said.
According to him, the defense forces continue offensive operations on the flanks near Bakhmut.
“Despite the fact that we now control the surroundings of the city, the importance of its defense does not lose its meaning. In the future, this will provide us with the opportunity to enter the city when there is a change in the operational situation at the front,” he stressed.
The commander of the Eastern Group of Forces also said that during the work, together with the commanders, they planned in detail further actions and strategy and stressed that the defense operation continues.
Recall that earlier Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said that the Russian army failed to surround Bakhmut. The speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces Serhiy Cherevaty added that the Ukrainian military is holding positions in the vicinity of the city.
