Josep Borrell urges Ukraine to seize a unique chance
The European Union urges Ukraine not to miss a unique chance on its way to the EU and to move to European standards as soon as possible.
The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, called on Ukraine to accelerate the process of reforms, switch to European standards, so as not to miss a unique chance to join the European Union. He said this at a press conference on Monday, May 22, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“It’s time to speed up reforms, switch to European standards, prepare society for entry,” Borrell said.
According to him, Ukraine’s movement towards the EU is “a unique chance, and it should be used.”
Earlier it was reported that Borrell proposed to the European Union to increase the EU fund used to finance military assistance to Ukraine.
