The opening of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of the Landless Workers Movement (MST), this Tuesday (23) walked between hysteria and nonsense, confirming its vocation for circus and allegory.
With a large majority of parliamentarians from the extreme right, the CPI saw its main subject, the MST, disappear on several occasions, with deputies insisting on theories that had already been denied and outdated, with provocations to the government and landlessness.
A group of students visiting the National Congress applauded the speech by federal deputy Camila Jara (PT-MS), granddaughter of landless workers, members of the MST, who told her story. They were then attacked by Carolina de Toni (PL-SC), who, without mentioning the “Escola sem Partido” project, recalled one of the favorite folklores of the Brazilian right of the last decade.
“Most of them applauded this cheap speech, they must be being indoctrinated inside the classroom… They should teach (in schools) that (the MST) is a criminal movement, which should not be applauded”, criticized the Bolsonarist, who tried to provoke PT.
“It’s easy to talk about social justice and come here with an iPhone and a Louis Vuitton bag. Why not give the bag to share with the poor? It’s easy to be an Iphone socialist”, said de Toni.
At another time, federal deputy Éder Mauro (PL-PA) decided to recall PL 3360, authored by deputy Orlando Silva (PcdoB-SP), which establishes the “Statute of Families of the 21st Century”, which has no relation to the MST.
“The Catholic and Evangelical bench did not pass up a project by Mr. Orlando Silva, PL 3369, which simply authorized and legalized that the father could have sex with the daughter, the mother with the son and brother with brother”, said the deputy, who lied to his peers, making a very particular interpretation of the 21st Century Family Statute.
The text of PL 3369 says: “All forms of union between two or more people constituted for this purpose and based on love, socio-affectivity, regardless of consanguinity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, creed are recognized as families. or race, including their children or persons deemed to be such. Single paragraph. The Public Power will provide formal recognition and guarantee all the rights arising from the constitution of families.”
The project, therefore, recognizes the different family constitutions, but does not legislate on marriage or stable union, not even on the acceptance, or not, of sexual intercourse between members of the same family.
even the president
As if that were not enough, the president of the CPI, federal deputy Lieutenant Coronel Zucco (Republicanos-RS), tried to silence deputy Sâmia Bomfim (PSOL-SP), a member of the Commission, after she cited investigations authorized against him by the Federal Supreme Court ( STF) for alleged participation in anti-democratic acts.
The reason was the authorization given by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur in the Supreme Court of the processes on anti-democratic acts, authorized the Federal Police to resume investigations into Zucco’s performance in episodes registered in Rio Grande do Sul and in the Federal District after the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in the 2022 presidential elections.
Minutes after the news of the reopening authorization was published by press vehicles, Sâmia signed up to speak and mentioned the case.
“I signed up, ladies and gentlemen, to report on news that just came out in the press. They were quite uncomfortable with the deputies who spoke about the Federal Police investigations that fall on the president, but the news that Moraes authorizes has just come out. the Federal Police to resume the investigation of the president of the CPI of the MST for his participation in anti-democratic acts, which until now you were saying was a lie”, he said, while having the audio of the microphone cut.
Earlier, Sâmia had confronted deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP), rapporteur of the CPI, who tried to carry out a maneuver to rename the Commission as “Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry destined to investigate the invasion of property, depredation of public and private property and crimes correlated”. The PSOL parliamentarian protested and forced the former minister, known for his actions that harm the environment, to back down.
