The abbot of the monastery from Melitopol helped the invaders
The defendant was reported on suspicion of collaborative activities. By the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, personal sanctions were applied to the suspect for five years.
Law enforcers exposed the abbot of the monastery from Melitopol (Zaporozhye diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP)), who helped the Russian invaders. This was announced on Tuesday, May 23, by the regional prosecutor’s office.
He was informed about the suspicion of collaboration activities. In addition, by decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, personal sanctions were applied to the suspect for five years.
It is noted that the clergyman contributed to the establishment of the occupation authorities on the territory of the Melitopol region. In addition, since August 2022, he has actively participated in propaganda activities against Ukraine.
During public speeches, the rector called on the residents of the occupied Melitopol to support the holding of an illegal referendum on joining Russia.
Recall that the SBU exposed a novice of the UOC-MP, who justified the aggression of the Russian Federation.
It was also reported that two priests were sentenced in Kropyvnytskyi.
