Spain will transfer four more Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Spanish Ministry of Defense Margarita Robles at a meeting of Ramstein. This was reported by the press service of the Spanish Defense Ministry.
Robles reported on the current status of Spanish deliveries, noting, among other things, the forthcoming delivery of four more Leopard 2A4 battle tanks and a new batch of M-113 TOA infantry vehicles.
The press service added that the official also noted good progress in the training of the Ukrainian military in Spain.
“To date (in Spain – ed.) 1,500 people have been trained,” the ministry added.
Earlier, Spain stated that it would not transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, since they are not in service. Accordingly, she will also not be able to train Ukrainian pilots to work with them.
Spain during the presidency of the EU Council will focus on supporting Ukraine.
