Ukraine will receive short-range air-to-air missiles AIM-9 from Canada. We are talking about 43 missiles.
Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced that the country will provide Ukraine with 43 AIM-9 short-range air-to-air missiles from the Canadian Armed Forces stockpile free of charge. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Canada.
Canada is expanding its presence in Poland as part of Operation UNIFIER. Five additional Canadian Forces (CAF) medical instructors will be deployed to Poland to join the seven CAF members already involved in the CAF Medical Skills Development Program. The expansion of the medical training mission will double the number of potential Ukrainian graduates.
UNIFIER is a joint task force of the Canadian Armed Forces – Ukraine, aimed at reforming the Ukrainian military. It was created in 2015. Since then, CAF has trained more than 36,000 Ukrainian troops in combat tactics and advanced military skills, of which more than 2,400 have been trained.
Recall that Canada has transferred mine-clearing equipment to Ukraine.
Earlier, Canada allocated a new aid package to Ukraine. Approximately $2.5 million allocated for 40 sniper rifles and ammunition from Prairie Gun Works, about $2 million worth of new radios from L3 Harris for the Leopard 2 tank.
