An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck off the coast of Japan’s Chiba Prefecture on May 26. This was reported by the National Meteorological Administration of Japan.
The epicenter of the tremors lay at a depth of about 50 km. There were no reports of casualties or damage, and there was no threat of a tsunami.
A warning system about a powerful earthquake worked in the capital region, and all TV channels broadcast the corresponding message.
Strong tremors were felt in Tokyo for one minute, furniture swaying in houses.
