With the theme “Life in the first place”, this Saturday (5), starting at 2 pm, the preparatory seminar for the 29th Cry of the Excluded in Belo Horizonte will take place. The activity will take place in the hall of the Nossa Senhora da Conceição dos Pobres Church, in the Lagoinha neighborhood.
Traditionally, the Grito dos Exclusivas takes place on September 7, the date on which Brazil’s independence is celebrated. The objective of the popular demonstration, which takes to the streets of several cities in the country, is to denounce the contradictions experienced by the Brazilian population, especially the most socially and economically vulnerable.
For this year, the motto that guides the march and its construction process is “What are you hungry and thirsty for?”. In Minas Gerais, the 29th edition of the act also aims to denounce measures taken by the state government, under the command of Romeu Zema (Novo).

In the evaluation of social and popular movements, unions, political parties and parliamentary mandates that build the Grito dos Excludos, the governor applies an economic policy in the state that intensifies inequalities.
Among the most criticized actions of Zema are the precariousness of public services, such as health and education, and the successive attempts to hand over state companies, in particular Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (Cemig) and Companhia de Saneamento de Minas. Gerais (Copasa), for the private sector.
To fulfill these objectives, the preparatory seminar has in its program, which runs until 5 pm, debates on topics such as the Brazilian reality, inequalities and struggles for rights.
