Negotiations on Ukraine in Saudi Jeddah cannot lead to a result, since Russia does not participate in them, said Anatoly Antonov, Russian ambassador to the United States.
“I would like to understand how it is possible to discuss issues related to the security of Russia without taking into account our national interests. Is it really still not clear to anyone that in such a situation it is impossible to achieve a specific result? ”, Antonov said in a comment.
According to him, the US is wishful thinking, diplomatic success in Jeddah has not been achieved.
He noted that Washington tried to give the impression of support for the United States by the states of the “Global South”.
Earlier, the DPA agency, citing diplomatic sources, reported that the authorities of Saudi Arabia and a number of other countries presented an alternative plan for Ukraine at a meeting in Jeddah, and Russia was informed about it.
The Financial Times, citing sources, said that China expressed its readiness to take part in the next meeting to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
