HC Dynamo defender Brennan Menell will no longer be considered a legionnaire in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
According to Match TV, the player received sports citizenship of the Russian Federation.
On July 27, President Vladimir Putin presented Menell with a Russian passport.
In the 2022/23 season, the hockey player played in 44 games of the KHL regular season, scoring 24 (2 + 22) points. He made six playoff appearances.
Earlier, the American Dynamo hockey player said that he was glad to receive Russian citizenship.
