Russian troops shelled the city of Nikopol in the Dnepropetrovsk region of Ukraine, killing an 18-year-old boy. This was announced by the chairman of the regional council Nikolai Lukashuk.
Three more men were injured. A 21-year-old boy was hospitalized with a mine-explosive injury, a chest and shoulder wound. It is in satisfactory condition. Two men aged 45 and 35 received shrapnel wounds, they will be treated on an outpatient basis.
The shelling damaged the temple, five residential buildings, two outbuildings, a car, four power lines and a gas pipeline, he said.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on August 8, the Russian army launched four missile and 53 air strikes, as well as 86 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. The strikes reportedly killed and injured civilians and destroyed homes and civilian infrastructure.
