The head of VTB Andrey Kostin earns about a billion rubles a month, they write “Important stories” with reference to data on the income of Russians for 2020 that got into the network.
The total annual income of Kostin in 2020, according to these data, amounted to 11.4 billion rubles. Of these, he received two million rubles from the United Grain Company, another million each from the World Bank for Reconstruction and Development and from Rosneft. The rest of the money comes from the state bank, which he has been in charge of since 2002.
The publication indicates that the documents do not specify what exactly the money paid to Kostin consists of – salaries, dividends, bonuses or other payments.
Five Big Stories employees found their 2020 earnings leaked. Not all incomes were presented there, but those that were found were indicated accurately. The publication suggests that Kostin received no less than the specified amount, and possibly more.
In April 2019, Roskomnadzor blocked about a thousand links to Internet resources that mentioned VTB Bank, its president Andrey Kostin, and VGTRK TV presenter Nailya Asker-zade. On April 4, Baza reported that the Yandex.Zen service had deleted an investigation into an apartment worth hundreds of millions, which first belonged to VTB, and then to Naila Asker-zade. The article noted that the TV presenter could get an apartment because of her relationship with the head of VTB.
Earlier, Navalny’s associates found in a tax leak the income of the executive director of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, who is listed under the name of Sergei Terentyev in the tax service register. His annual income amounted to more than 3 billion rubles. Investigators did not specify in which year Sechin received such money (data from the Federal Tax Service on the salaries of Russians for 2018 and 2020 got into the network).
