The Ministry of Forestry and Timber Processing of the Khabarovsk Territory decided to extend the ban on visiting forests until the end of August.
“On the territory of the Khabarovsk Territory, a difficult fire hazard situation in the forests remains. To stabilize it, the ministry extended the ban on visiting forests from 10 to 31 August this year. The corresponding order was signed the day before, ”the ministry said in a statement.
Deputy Minister – Head of the Forest Conservation Department Konstantin Kuznetsov stressed that the region is still experiencing a tense situation with forest fires.
The main causes of active forest fires are dry thunderstorms and favorable weather.
Earlier it was reported that more than 150 paratroopers were sent to extinguish forest fires in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and Yakutia.
