Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said that the administration’s new request for additional funding for aid to Ukraine would not help turn the tide and would not lead to Russia’s defeat.
According to him, Washington is demonstrating a kind of “manic desire to achieve a strategic defeat for Russia.”
“All such aspirations are doomed to failure,” RIA Novosti quotes Antonov.
At the same time, the ambassador stressed that the American authorities are ignoring the growing rejection by their own citizens of support for Kyiv.
Earlier, Antonov called the Pentagon’s statements about cluster munitions cynicism.
Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green also said that the United States cannot afford to allocate new billions to Ukraine.
