The head of Roskosmos, Yuri Borisov, said that the Luna-26 interplanetary automatic station is planned to be launched in 2027, and the Luna-27 station – in 2028.
“We hope that in 2027 we will launch Luna-26, in 2028 Luna-27, and somewhere by 2030, after 2030, Luna-28,” he is quoted as saying. Borisova RIA Novosti.
He also called today’s launch of the Luna-25 station a new page in the practical exploration of the Moon.
“We will carry out this work together with our Chinese colleagues – this is the start of the first phase of the long-term lunar program,” said the general director of Roscosmos.
On August 11, the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with the Fregat upper stage was launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome, which will deliver the first automatic station Luna-25 in the modern history of Russia to the South Pole of the Earth’s satellite.
Later, Roskosmos reported that the Luna-25 automatic station had separated from the Fregat upper stage and put on a flight path to the Earth’s satellite.
As part of the Luna-25: Heading for the South Pole special project jointly with Roskosmos, RT conducted a live broadcast of the launch of the station from the Vostochny cosmodrome, as well as a special live broadcast.
