Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil said in an interview with a TASS correspondent that the country is ready to join the BRICS.
According to him, Venezuela considers BRICS a new way of world order and is ready to contribute to the further development of this organization.
“Venezuela sees BRICS as a new choice for peace, a new choice for unity,” Gil said.
In addition, the diplomat noted that Venezuela has a developed infrastructure and can become “a point of energy support for the BRICS.”
Earlier it was reported that 23 countries applied for membership in the BRICS.
Also, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, noted that Venezuela’s entry into the BRICS requires a conceptual discussion.
