The head coach of the Russian SAMBO team Dmitry Troshkin was satisfied with the results of his wards at the II Games of the CIS countries in 2023 in Belarus.
“The task of our sambist team was to contribute as many medals as possible to the common treasury of our Russian delegation at the Games. Of the 14 sets of awards played, we won 14 medals – the task was completed, ”TASS quotes Troshkin.
According to him, every Russian sambist returns home with a trophy of the Games.
The Russian SAMBO team won six gold, three silver and five bronze medals.
Games of the CIS countries were held in Belarus from 4 to 14 August with the participation of more than 2 thousand athletes from 22 countries. The competitions were held in an open format. In total, 246 sets of medals were played during the competition. Winners and prize-winners were determined in 20 sports.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian team won the medal standings of the Games of the CIS countries with 288 medals.
