Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that 34 more countries would boycott the Paris Olympics if Russian and Belarusian athletes were allowed to attend.
“A coalition for fair sport has been formed, which includes 35 states. We are ready to boycott the Olympic Games if Russia and Belarus are allowed,” Shmyhal said on Telegram.
The IOC stated that there was no deadline for the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes. At the same time, in July, invitations to the Games in Paris were sent out to the national Olympic committees, with the exception of Russia and Belarus.
The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine will withdraw from the Olympics if Russia is allowed to compete under its own flag.
