The Ministry of Forestry and Timber Processing of the region reported an increase in the area of forest fires in the region.
According to RIA Novosti with reference to the department, since the beginning of August, the region has managed to reduce the area of forest fires by several times – to almost 62 thousand hectares, but they began to increase again.
“On the territory of the Khabarovsk Territory, 76 fires were registered on a total area of 124,407 hectares: 67 fires were active (on 121,410 hectares), nine fires were localized on 2,997 hectares. Over the past day, 13 fires on 3,264 hectares have been extinguished,” the ministry said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Forestry and Timber Processing of the Khabarovsk Territory decided to extend the ban on visiting forests until the end of August.
