The federal government announced a series of measures, in several areas, in response to the guidelines presented by the participants of the 2023 edition of Marcha das Margaridas. The government also confirmed the resumption of the National Agrarian Reform Program, with priority given to women and the expansion of social participation for rural workers, in addition to the resumption of the Bolsa Verde
“It is an enormous joy to be here once again. The happiness is even greater for being able to sign in front of all of you these acts that converge to the economic autonomy and productive inclusion of rural women”, said president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT ) to the participants of the March and members of their government, such as ministers, who also participated in the event.

The Emergency Plan for Agrarian Reform will prioritize women in the selection process. The forecast is to benefit more than 45 thousand families, resuming a policy interrupted in the governments of Michel Temer (MDB) and Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The policy will be accompanied by technical assistance and rural extension, with the allocation of R$ 13.5 million to assist rural women and agroecology.
According to the government’s announcement, there will be eight new settlements, which will guarantee housing for 5,711 families and the regularization of another 40,000. In all these cases, women will be a priority.
The Rural Women’s Productive Backyards Program, in turn, intends to promote food and nutritional security and the economic autonomy of rural women. By 2026, there will be 90,000 productive backyards throughout Brazil, 10,000 of which will be created right away. The beneficiary women will have access to inputs, equipment and utensils for structuring and managing the backyards.

In the case of Bolsa Verde, a payment of R$ 600 was announced to low-income families located in areas that will be environmentally protected. Before, this value was R$ 300.
“These were priorities defined by you. Demands that we are pleased to meet, so that women in the countryside, forests and waters can live with dignity, having their civil, political and social rights assured. Dear comrades: Brazil is back! It’s back to pay attention to rural women and take care of the Brazilians who need it the most. Brazil has returned, with the help of the hands of each one of you”, concluded Lula.
