By five votes against one, the Regional Electoral Court/RS annulled the mandate of Bolsonarist councilor Alexandre Bobadra (PL). The Electoral Judicial Investigation Action (AIJE) was presented to the TRE-RS by three former candidates from the punished councilor’s own party. They accused Bobadra of committing abuse of economic power “resulting from the concentration of resources from the Special Campaign Financing Fund (…), to the detriment of the other candidates.” At the time, the accused and his accusers were running for the PSL.

Misuse of the media was also pointed out, including concentrating time on electoral propaganda broadcast on television. The abuses by Bobadra – president of the party in Porto Alegre – would have been ignored by the party’s state presidency.
More money and TV time
The punished councilor, according to the AIJE, would have received R$ 280,000 from the electoral fund, that is, 43% of the amount transferred by the state and federal directorates of the PSL. He would still have 31% of all TV time directed to the acronym.

In last year’s election campaign, Bobadra’s behavior generated another conflict. He attacked then councilor Leonel Radde (PT), now a state deputy. The aggression occurred after Radde denounced the distribution of apocryphal pamphlets by the Bolsonarist in downtown Porto Alegre.
