Employees of the Russian Guard, together with military counterintelligence agencies, detained former soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who were trying to recruit residents of the DPR to participate in hostilities on the side of Ukraine.
“Rosgvardeytsy detained two accomplices who turned to citizens with a proposal to move to the territory of Ukraine and join the nationalist units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the report says.
In July, it was reported that the Ukrainian special services, amid heavy losses of personnel at the front, launched the recruitment of foreign mercenaries in Latin America, Iraq and Syria.
In addition, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, against the background of the fading interest in participating in hostilities on the part of the inhabitants of Poland, Britain and other European countries, active recruitment began in the United States and Canada.
