Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi has spoken out about moving to the US and Canadian Professional Football League (MLS).
“I came here with great joy, and the fact that we reached the final was a huge surprise. I always kept the US option in mind. At first it was difficult here, given the heat and everything else, but now I’m comfortable here, ”Messi was quoted by CBS News.
The 36-year-old joined the club on a free transfer. He plays number ten. The gold medalist of the last World Cup signed a contract with the MLS club until the end of the 2025 season.
On August 16, Messi moved into a clean third place in Inter Miami’s all-time leading scorer list, scoring nine goals and overtaking midfielder Robert Taylor, who has eight goals for the club.
Earlier, Messi said that he does not consider the Golden Ball to be the most valuable award.
