The silver medalist of the 2017 World Championships in high jump Danil Lysenko spoke about the admission of Russian athletes to the Olympic Games in Paris.
“I already, in principle, do not expect that we will be allowed to the Olympics, I am set to other goals. I am very glad that we have planned major launches – the BRICS and Friendship Games, I hope that everything will work out, ”RIA Novosti quoted Lysenko as saying.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that federations allow Russians who do not support a special military operation as neutral athletes to compete.
Coe made it clear that the mechanism for the admission of athletes from Russia to the 2024 Olympics has not yet been developed. According to him, Russian athletes are unlikely to take part in the Games in Paris.
The 2024 Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, expressed the opinion that the silence of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the issue of admission of Russian athletes destroys the mission of sports.
