Shevchenko withdrew from the first round match of the tournament in Winston-Salem during the third set

Russian tennis player Alexander Shevchenko has decided to withdraw from the match of the first round of the ATP 250 in Winston-Salem (USA).

The Russian refused to continue the match in the third set with the Swiss Marc-Andrea Huesler. The meeting ended with the score 3:6, 6:4, 0:4. The reason for Shevchenko’s withdrawal from the tournament is still unknown. The duration of the meeting was 1 hour 33 minutes.

In the next round, Huesler will play Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

Earlier, Sobolenko lost to Muchova in the semifinals of the tennis tournament in Cincinnati.
