The Egyptian authorities announced the possibility of exporting Russian wheat to neighboring countries if Moscow creates a global logistics distribution center in the economic zone of the Suez Canal.
This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the main department for the supply of goods under the Ministry of Supply of Egypt.
“Egypt may increase purchases of Russian wheat, and then export wheat and other cereals to neighboring countries,” the ministry said.
According to the Egyptian authorities, the logistics center will serve as a hub for the storage and trade of wheat and other cereals in the Arab region and the countries of North and East Africa.
In June, it was reported that the supply of Russian wheat to Egypt since July 2022 exceeded 8 million tons.
It was also noted that in ten years Russia has more than doubled its food exports.
On August 19, the conference “Russia – Egypt: 80 years of strategic partnership” was held in Cairo.
