Walter Delgatti Neto, known as a hacker from Araraquara, was sentenced this Monday (21) to 20 years in prison and payment of a fine. He was tried in the scope of the Spoofing operation, which investigated the leak of Telegram messages from members of the Lava Jato operation. Once disclosed, the content of the messages triggered the crisis known as Vaza Jato.
The decision is by Judge Ricardo Augusto Soares Leite, from the 10th Federal Court of Brasília. Delgatti was found guilty of hacking a computer device, criminal organization, money laundering and intercepting communications.
Five other people were also convicted: Gustavo Elias dos Santos (12 years and 9 months in prison); Thiago Eliezer Martins Santos (18 years and 11 months); Suelen Priscila de Oliveira (6 years) and Danilo Cristiano Marques (10 years and 5 months). Luiz Henrique Molição obtained a pardon for a plea bargain negotiated with the Court.

Delgatti is also investigated for participating in a scheme to insert false release permits and arrest warrants into the National Prison Monitoring Bank. Bolsonarist federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) is also the target of the investigation. In testimony to the PF, he confessed participation in the scheme.
According to the PF, “the crimes investigated occurred between January 4 and 6, 2023, when 11 permits for the release of individuals arrested for various reasons would have been entered into the CNJ system and possibly other courts in Brazil. and a false arrest warrant against Supreme Federal Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes”.
The facts investigated “configure, in theory, the crimes of invasion of a computer device and ideological falsehood”, says the PF.

In a statement to the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) of January 8, held on August 17, Delgatti said that Jair Bolsonaro asked him to take over a wiretap that would have been made against Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court. (STF), during a call mediated by federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP).
“The president got in touch with me through an apparently new cell phone, with a chip inserted at that time. They had managed to get a wiretap from Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who would have compromising conversations, and they needed me to assume responsibility for this wiretap”, he said.
Afterwards, the hacker explained the plan: “The idea would be for the boy on the left to take over this wiretapping carried out by agencies from another country, supposedly. , Delgatti told the parliamentarians.

The hacker was responsible for leaking messages exchanged between members of Operation Lava Jato, like the then prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol and the then judge of the operation in Curitiba, Sergio Moro. The messages released revealed a joint collaboration between prosecutors and Moro in cases involving former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The content played a crucial role in the judgments conducted by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which resulted in the declaration of suspicion of Moro in the cases against Lula.
