Olympic ice dancing champion Roman Kostomarov took to the ice for the first time since his illness.
The figure skater appeared on the ice during the gala show of Ilya Averbukh “Letters of Love” in Sochi.
Recall that Kostomarov was admitted to intensive care with pneumonia in January 2023. Later, he was transferred to a hospital in Kommunarka, where he underwent an ECMO procedure, after which the skater’s condition began to improve. However, due to necrosis, he underwent several amputations.
On July 6, the athlete announced that he had been discharged from the hospital.
Earlier, SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg said that he would like to invite Kostomarov to one of the matches of the regular season of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) in St. Petersburg.
